Meet Eby Maude...the 20 year old who dropped Uni to do influencing full time...

Updated: Jun 28, 2020

This week we spoke to Eby Maude, the 20 year old who is taking Instagram by storm. After recently dropping out of London College of Fashion to do influencing and modelling full time, we caught up and found out all the latest Instagram tea...

"I've always been super creative so doing Instagram stuff is always fun and I really enjoy finding new ways to take pictures. It's great when I post content people relate to or help other people, for example my posts about mental health. People always message me saying that I've helped them and it's very fulfilling to know you're reaching people in a positive way.

"I've always liked sharing my life through pictures and I've always seen Instagram as a way of keeping memories. When Instagram came out I was obsessed with having a "cute" feed so I guess I started becoming creative with content when Instagram started!

"Growing a platform is definitely more difficult nowadays than it was a few years ago. I noticed my Instagram would grow in heaps years ago whereas now it's harder to get recognised. But, it's not a case of giving up, it's definitely a case of being authentic on there and the audience will grow naturally.

"In terms of my modelling career, social media plays a great part in that. I've always had struggles with modelling due to my size being in-between an 8/10, so getting work can sometimes mean set back after set back. But I'm learning that if you're providing something authentic people will appreciate that more than trying to be someone you're not."

Eby has recently become a part of the sustainable gym wear brand 'TALA' campaign, founded by creator Grace Beverley. TALA puts emphasis on embracing every single body type.

"From social media and meeting people I've had the chance to work with Grace Beverley's brand TALA. I met her through mutual friends and being able to model for a brand who's ethos are so inclusive is great. My proudest achievement work wise is definitely walking for Adidas in London Fashion Week, but generally speaking the best achievement I have gotten from doing blogging and influencing is the people I've met and been able to form friendships with.

"In the next 5 years I see my platform becoming bigger, more platforms generally. I want to start doing more on YouTube for example. I actually have a plan to start a section on YouTube that's like an interview show, but it's in the very early stages at the moment..." Stay tuned for more by the sounds of it!

Eby continued: "Finding motivation is super hard. Especially when you wake up with no "actual plans" like, I don't have to go out of the house, I could be a potato on the sofa all day watching Netflix. But I always think of it like being your own boss and the only person who works for your company is you.

"So if I don't go to work for myself, even if it just means setting the laptop up and doing some post planning, outfit planning or putting makeup on and taking content, then it won't happen. Just gotta keep the drive there to succeed (which we know isn't always easy if you're a bit sleepy or having an off day) but it's always worth it after a good day of being productive!"

Some of Eby's favourite bloggers are all her best friends, she is their biggest fan. These include @kenyabrown_ @fuhzz @bethanjroberts @erinwilliams_2 and @hazel.hurley. Be sure to check them out on Instagram!
