Introducing Beth Little...

Updated: Jun 28, 2020

Hello & welcome back to The Influencer! If you're new here, we are Beth & Lizzie, two gals who have just finished their degree and are looking to spread some positivity and sharing our love of beauty and fashion. We have recently rebranded from our 'magazine' (that we created for an assignment) and have decided to start up as a blog because we enjoyed it so much! Stay tuned for lots of exciting new content and don't forget to check out our Instagram @thelnfluencer for updates.

Anyway, we wanted to come back with a BANG! So this week we've spoken to the lovely Beth Little (@bethlittle_ on Insta) and asked about how she got the confidence to start her YouTube channel, how she is keeping sane in lockdown and how she creates those amazing hairstyles. Obvs corona ruined any chances of actually meeting up for interviews, so for now we will make use of emails, zoom and Insta to get our content.

Beth is 21 years old and currently studying Early Childhood Studies at the University of Chichester and is looking forward to beginning her final year in September. We asked Beth how she coped with the Coronavirus pandemic cutting her second year short:

"Believe me, lockdown has been a struggle!! Everything was taken away from me - uni, my friends and my independence. I moved back home to be with my family, which has been so lovely but I have missed my friends more than ever, and I never thought I'd say this, but I actually miss uni! One thing that has been keeping me sane is watching telly and films.

"I'm a massive binger - we got Disney+ at the beginning of lockdown and it's been a god send. I've been watching all the Marvel films, as well as my favourite series on Netflix - Big Bang Theory, Workin' Moms and New Girl."

We've definitely got some more series to add to our list now, thanks Beth!

Beth has recently started her own YouTube channel and began using Instagram as a platform to get spread her love of fashion, beauty and all things positivity. We asked what made her want to start her own channel:

"Well I have watched YouTube since the good old days of Zoella, Marcus Butler and Tanya Burr, but I never had the balls to start. I feel like when I was in school, there was a lot of stigma and judgment around having a YouTube channel because it was different, and all you want to do in high school is fit in.

"However, during lockdown, I grabbed the bull by the horns and just said 'f*** it! Why would I live my life for others?!' I've had such an amazing reaction since and I don't see why I was so scared now! I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do after uni so if my YouTube and Instagram were to take off, I'd 100% go for it. For now, I'm just taking each day as it comes and hopefully my platforms will grow over the next few years, who knows where it will take me!"

We asked if she had any advice for anyone thinking of starting doing YouTube or Instagram:

"I'd tell them to just go for it! It seems like the most terrifying thing at first to do something different to everyone else but I feel especially today with the major influence of social media, more and more people are starting YouTube. I was so scared what others would think of me when I posted my first video and promoted it on my Instagram but I had no reason to be because everyone has been so lovely ever since!"

When we had a little stalk on Beth's Instagram, we couldn't help but notice her amazing and unique hairstyles, we had to ask where she gets the inspiration from!

"Honestly, each day is a guessing game as to how my hair is going to turn out! 90% of the time, my hair will either be straight or in some form of plaits. I like experimenting and creating new hairstyles that are super easy and don't take a lot of time. I do have a hairstyles video coming to my channel soon, so look out for that if you're interested!"

Finally, we asked Beth who some of her favourite creators are to follow on Instagram...

Charlotte Price (@charlotteemilyprice) and Carrie Pendle (@carriependle) are some of my favourites, I feel like they are just the most real and relatable and I love them both!

Megan Short (@meganshortxx) is the fashion QUEEN and her photos are just everything!!

Ellie Tyrrell (@ellierosetyrrell) is beautiful and I love how she just says it how it is.

Jaclyn Forbes (@jaclynforbes) is the vegan queen and I’m OBSESSED with her youtube videos, especially her what I eat in a day. Everyone needs to go check her out!

Sophia and Cinzia’s (@sophiatuxford and @cinziabayliszullo) feeds are just to die for, they are so atheistically pleasing and they are just beautiful girls.

We hope you've enjoyed our first post back! We had so much fun speaking to Beth and we are obsessing over her content, be sure to check her out here:

We hope you're all keeping safe during lockdown and we are sending lots of love to everyone. If you have anything you want us to feature on our blog then get in touch!

Lots of love,

Beth & Lizzie Xx
